This Morning's Phil and Holly review their favourite paper's weather report

It is cold – Wednesday is probably going to be the chilliest day of the year so far, a fact which has not gone unnoticed by the team at This Morning.

Well, it might have done until they saw the report in the Express today.

Phil and Holly are once again enamoured by our weather coverage, and rightly so, clearly they know The Express leads the way on all things meteorological.

Phillip, I’ll let you off  getting my name wrong initially, but I must take issue with the sense of scorn with which you spoke about me today.

I jest of course, and on a serious note tomorrow is being mooted as a contender for the coldest day of the year so far – we have to beat 15.8C  in Lincolnshire, in February.

Forecasters do say that with wind chill in the mountains we could do that, during the  day however will probably hover around freezing.

And it is due to turn milder by the end of the week with a repeat of the rain in the way.

    The temperature is whatever the temperature is: wind chill has nothing to do with it.

    Just one error out of so many.....

I t was Oscar Wilde who wrote “the only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about”. I have nothing more to add other than to share the following, posted on Tabloid Watch - the website which purports to blog about “bad journalism”. Jedward spotted in the city, but what were they up to?

I know that hair, I thought to myself as I passed London’s Monument on the way home from work. Those ridiculously elongated, spiky locks, wacky costumes and irritating voices were an immediate giveaway. And of course it only took me a second to recognise Jedward – the X-Factor twins whose ludicrous image and inability to hold a note have propelled them to (semi) fame. I have nothing against them, I am only being mean, and credit where it’s due, they are fiercely determined, and have built up a pretty unique act for themselves. So well done brothers Grimes. But it has to be said, the act is based around being cringe-worthingly bad at everything they try. They only made it through on the X-Factor because Simon Cowell was won over by their determination and self-belief – and let’s face it, that is really all it takes. Is it racist to mark St George's day?- Ricky Gervais thinks some may think so

I don’t like Ricky Gervais. I’ve never found him funny, he comes across as self-absorbed, arrogant and sporting a hugely over-inflated opinion of himself. I didn’t get all the fuss people made of that dance thing he did on the Office, and his infamous “two mongs don’t make a right” comments on twitter which seemingly ridiculed disabled people were at the very least, in poor taste. This morning, however, when he raised another issue  close to the bone, I found myself  thinking  he may have a point. On Twitter, he broached the super-sensitive issue of racism speaking about today being St George’s Day, a celebration of all things, well, English.
