A bit of a weather cock up by the Met Office?

I am forced to offer another weather related entry today, but only because this one carries a degree of merriment.

Unsurprisingly I am in regular contact with the Met Office, usually speaking to them on a daily basis.

Today, however, I had to stifle a chuckle as I picked up the phone to make my routine morning call.

The reason, and I know it is very childish and unbecoming of anyone nearing the grand old age of 40, ...but......

I had looked at their weekly UK weather map showing the latest warnings for inclement conditions.

I mentioned to forecaster Dan Williams that the Met Office had raised a bit of a giggle in the office.

And as I explained why, I heard the press office descend into mirth in the background.

Now the Met Office are always very reliable, but at first glance this looks like a bit of a cock up.

    Ur weather stories are the most stupid, inaccurate, laughable things I have ever read. A quick Google of you or your weather headlines should make you realise what a laughing stock you and the Daily Express actually are. Give it a break

Jedward spotted in the city, but what were they up to?

I know that hair, I thought to myself as I passed London’s Monument on the way home from work. Those ridiculously elongated, spiky locks, wacky costumes and irritating voices were an immediate giveaway. And of course it only took me a second to recognise Jedward – the X-Factor twins whose ludicrous image and inability to hold a note have propelled them to (semi) fame. I have nothing against them, I am only being mean, and credit where it’s due, they are fiercely determined, and have built up a pretty unique act for themselves. So well done brothers Grimes. But it has to be said, the act is based around being cringe-worthingly bad at everything they try. They only made it through on the X-Factor because Simon Cowell was won over by their determination and self-belief – and let’s face it, that is really all it takes. Is it racist to mark St George's day?- Ricky Gervais thinks some may think so

I don’t like Ricky Gervais. I’ve never found him funny, he comes across as self-absorbed, arrogant and sporting a hugely over-inflated opinion of himself. I didn’t get all the fuss people made of that dance thing he did on the Office, and his infamous “two mongs don’t make a right” comments on twitter which seemingly ridiculed disabled people were at the very least, in poor taste. This morning, however, when he raised another issue  close to the bone, I found myself  thinking  he may have a point.
