Summer on the way .... again

The summer is about to kick in again from tomorrow with the chance of a heatwave by the end of the week.

Whether or not this is good news I don’t know, I suppose it varies from person to person.

For me, I am not a fan of the extremes in British weather  – summer scorchers or winter big freezes, other than the fun that is to be had writing about them.

But one thing is for sure, the weather this year, more than ever, is finding it impossible to make its mind up.

The burst of summer will follow a week of flooding, thunder with even tornados being spotted swirling above parts of the country.

And it was only two weeks since we were stripping off on the beaches  as temperatures soared to their highest this year.

And make the most of it because after this week it is all downhill again, with yet more rain on the way and a thoroughly miserable rest of the month on the cards.

Anyway, thanks to Twitter pal and fellow weather watcher Iain for sending me this pic of a funnel cloud hovering menacingly in the skies above Bradford this week c/o @UKtornadoes.

In fact, all sorts of strange weather-related phenomena have been reported in British skies over the past few months, including the odd face of Jesus spotted in the clouds.

So, if you enjoy the heat you will be in your element this week, if you don’t it’s all likely to end by next Monday.

I have to admit to being slightly keen for the winter to get here because at least we know where we are with it -  cold.

Any weather related pics please tweet me @expressnathan
