Britain's Got Talent finals, best act of the series...? Ant and Dec
It’s that time of the year again, tonight is the final of Britain’s Got Talent 2012.
I don’t really have a favourite this time round, all the best acts have gone.
The interesting ones fell at the last hurdle, leaving behind a rather tired and samey line up of (mostly) singers all with some sob story to lure the voting public to their telephone key pads.
Unrequited love, kids desperate for their first break (yawn) last chance saloon lounge singers about to embark on the “biggest night of our lives” (double yawn).
I swear, if I hear that overindulgent statement one more time I shan’t be responsible for my actions.
The problem is, after a decade of flogging television talent shows to death, they’ve all become a bit too predictable.

Let’s face it we’ve seen it all before.
In next year’s line up I predict they will come thick and fast once again, although probably younger, cuter and with more tragic stories to improve their chances of getting through.
So tonight, I don’t really have a preference, although I think it’s more than likely to be the opera singer guy.
There have been a few highlights along the way though.
First and foremost, the true talents of the show, the genius and brilliant Ant and Dec.
They really are the best bit, the funniest and slickest comedy double act since Laurel and Hardy.
I love their one-liners and sharp retorts, for me they make Britain’s Got Talent.

But my favourite was Geisha Davis, the totally bonkers girl who painted her face white and red before proving she is possibly the barmiest person on the planet by singing a bizarre version of Humpty Dumpty.
I like people who are slightly more eccentric than myself.
If there’s any justice tonight it will be Pudsey, the adorable dancing dog, who will trot home with the 2012 crown.
In reality it’s more likely to be operatic duo Charlotte and Jonathan.
Only because they have the whole talent-show-winner package - issues, a hard life, a nice story of one not ditching the other, and two ok singing voices.
Anyway, good luck all...woof....woof....
